Several years after the catastrophic earthquake that shattered California, the San Andreas Fault remains dangerously unstable. As cities rebuild and life returns to a fragile normal, a team of seismologists detects an even more terrifying anomaly — a chain reaction brewing deep beneath the Earth’s crust that could split the entire western seaboard.

Ray Gaines (Dwayne Johnson), now working in emergency infrastructure, is pulled back into action when a new mega-quake strikes, triggering tsunamis, volcanic ruptures, and devastating aftershocks across the Pacific Rim. Joined by his daughter Blake (Alexandra Daddario), now a geological researcher, Ray must lead a high-risk rescue across collapsing cities and shifting landscapes to prevent a full-scale continental catastrophe.
