"Evil Toons" (1991) is a low-budget horror-comedy film written and directed by Fred Olen Ray, a filmmaker known for his work in B-movies and exploitation cinema.

🧟‍♀️📺 Plot Summary:

A group of young women are hired to clean an old haunted house over the weekend. While there, they find an ancient book that summons a demonic cartoon creature when opened. The demon (animated in a crude 2D style) comes to life and begins stalking and killing the girls one by one.

🎬 Key Details:

  • Director/Writer: Fred Olen Ray

  • Starring:

    • David Carradine as Gideon Fisk

    • Arte Johnson as the creepy delivery man

    • Dick Miller (cult actor known for Gremlins, The Terminator)

    • Madison Stone, Monique Gabrielle, and Suzanne Ager as the house-sitters

  • Genre: Horror, Comedy, Animation

  • Runtime: Approx. 83 minutes

  • Rating: R (nudity, gore, sexual content)

💥 What Makes It Unique:

  • Live-action mixed with hand-drawn animation, similar in concept (but not execution) to Who Framed Roger Rabbit — but in a horror-porn parody context.

  • Often classified as a "sexploitation" horror film due to its heavy emphasis on nudity and camp.

  • Despite the title, there's only one actual "evil toon" in the movie.

🧾 Reception & Cult Status:

  • Critically panned for bad acting, thin plot, and cheesy effects

  • However, it has since gained a cult following among fans of “so-bad-it’s-good” horror and ‘90s exploitation films.

  • Frequently included in lists of bizarre or obscure horror-comedies

Debora Caprioglio in  Paprika  (1991) – Performance Review Tinto Brass’s  Paprika   (1991) is an erotic drama set in post-WWII Italy, and at its center is Debora Caprioglio in a role that is as visually commanding as it is emotionally layered. She plays Mimma, a young woman who takes on the name “Paprika” as she enters a brothel to earn money for her fiancé’s business, only to discover far more about life, desire, and betrayal than she anticipated. 🎭  Caprioglio’s Performance Debora Caprioglio, then in her early twenties, brings both youthful innocence and sensual confidence to the screen. Her physical beauty, often emphasized by Brass’s famously indulgent camera, is undeniable—but what elevates her performance is how she uses vulnerability and restraint to offset the overt eroticism. Caprioglio’s Mimma begins the film naive, but over the course of the story, we see her transition through bitterness, resilience, and finally, self-empowerment. In th...
